NEW POSITION SPOTLIGHT — JOI TAYLOR
We are excited to introduce Joi Taylor, who is stepping into a new position at Dewar Public Schools as our Reading Interventionist!
Joi brings an incredible 30 years of experience in education, having taught Pre-K, 1st, and 2nd grade. She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Northeastern State University and holds credentials in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, and as a Reading Specialist. She is also National Board Certified!
In her new role, Joi is most excited about working with students in small groups and focusing on exactly what each child needs to become a stronger, more confident reader.
Outside of school, Joi enjoys camping, traveling, flower gardening, and, of course, reading! 📚
A fun fact about Joi: this summer she visited Helen Keller’s childhood home and had the opportunity to pump the actual well where Anne Sullivan helped Helen understand that letters have meaning—an especially meaningful experience for someone with such a passion for reading and education.
We are excited to see the impact Mrs. Taylor will make in this new role and all the ways she will help our Little Dragons grow as readers!
