Please help us congratulate Carlie Wheeler on her new role as Elementary Assistant Principal & High School English Teacher at Dewar Public Schools!

Originally from Henryetta, Mrs. Wheeler earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from Northeastern State University and her Master of Science in Education Administration from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

Mrs. Wheeler brings 18 years of educational experience to her new position. Throughout her career, she has taught students from 1st through 12th grade while serving at Henryetta, Checotah, and Dewar Public Schools. She has proudly called Dewar home for the past five years.

When asked why she chose Dewar, Mrs. Wheeler shared:

"I chose Dewar because I love the small-town community and the feeling that everyone is family. It’s a place where people genuinely care about each other and always have your back."

As she steps into her new leadership role, she is looking forward to building strong relationships with students, staff, and families while helping create a positive environment where every child can succeed.

Outside of school, Mrs. Wheeler enjoys spending time with her children and family, reading a good book, traveling and checking destinations off her bucket list, caring for her animals, and cheering on the Sooners!

One fun fact about Mrs. Wheeler:

"I once decided that collecting experiences was more important than collecting things, and I’ve been chasing adventures ever since."

Mrs. Wheeler shared this message with Dragon Nation:

"I look forward to a great year filled with positivity, growth, and meaningful connections."

Congratulations, Mrs. Wheeler! We are excited to see the impact you'll make in your new role. Welcome to another exciting chapter at Dewar Public Schools! 🖤🧡
